". . . but I have MILES TO GO before I sleep, miles to go before I sleep." Robert Frost

An Irish Encounter
During my trip I wanted to visit the rectory of the parish where my greatgrandfather was baptised and where my greatgreatgrandparents were married. I've been attending St. Patrick's Day mass there for several years and have met the parish priest, Fr. Joe Clarke on other occasions. The church records are simply entered by hand in a large ledger dating back to the 1840's. Though I knew all the info it contained from friends who had view copies of the records at Mormon family history centers, I just wanted to see the original. "Get the vibe" from the 170 year old handwritten entries, see the now familiar family names of the parish. So after mass I asked Fr. Clarke if I could stop by the next afternoon. He said yes, he had a funeral mass at noon, but suggested I meet him at 1:30. I got there a bit early and saw people still gathered at the cemetery so remained in my car at the rectory looking over some notes and at promptly 1:30 went to the door to see if Fr. Clarke had arrived. He greeted me with a smile and a handshake and said "Bruce, you've lost some of your Irish blood". I was puzzled, thinking maybe a relative of my ancestors had been the one buried today. "Lost my Irish blood? What do you mean"? "Ah! You arrived right on time"! Guess "true Irish" don't keep schedules too well!

Have til later this afternoon to head to the far side of Harrisburg to get a trailer at the Palmyra distribution center that should be loaded and ready for delivery to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Catch ya later, and don't worry if you're a little late, it just might be in your blood!bb.
