Oh, ok.
I'm now in a race against pain, or maybe it is a race against the evil tooth fairy.
I finally got my drug test redone this week and am again on track to start orientation for Schneider National
in Atlanta on Sunday. It will be next Friday before I am formally on the payroll, and lucky for me as an experienced driver, Schneider brings me on board immediately for benefits such as life and health insurance and 401k participation (yeah, like THAT'S gonna happen! I cashed out my old one this week).
In the past year I have had two teeth crack and break off above the gumline. They are back teeth and one of them is the only tooth I have ever had cavities in. I was warned a long time ago that that tooth can not be filled again. After 40 years of that stinker getting cavities and being drilled, they can go no deeper. I was told the next time it has a problem it will need to be removed.
I had a horrendous experience having a wisdom tooth taken out 10 years ago and have avoided dentists like the plague ever since. So when it broke more than a year ago, I could only hope it wasn't serious and it wasn't. Then a few months later I was surprised when an upper tooth that I've never had trouble with also broke (peanut M&Ms, damn them!). And so I have bided my time feeling that since they have not shown other problems like sensitivity, I can wait out this prolonged period of not having insurance.
Then a week before I was to get back to coverage, the upper tooth began to show just a little stab of pain when I drank a cold soda or beer. It got a little worse, but not bad. Then my rehire got delayed. Then a week ago I woke up in pain. But it was a dream. A dream in which I was in pain from a bad tooth. I was not really in pain. Then a few days ago I started to have an ache in my jaws. Yes, plural. Right where the upper and the lower teeth are. I am taking one Tylenol at night. During the day the sensation comes and goes, maybe it might even be psychological. But I know the upper tooth IS sensitive. And I have another 7 days til I'm on the payroll.
DAMN! Did I say no more politics? (McCain is on Letterman).
I'm SO glad my Florida State Seminoles won against NC State tonite or I would be in a REALLY nasty mood and would have to break my pledge, LOL!
