". . . but I have MILES TO GO before I sleep, miles to go before I sleep." Robert Frost
do you hear sleigh bells?
Made it back home (after more than an hour to travel less than 30 miles on the DC beltway) and have the tractor in the driveway, Christmas lights a-blazing!
Caught up on mail including lots of holiday cards from the 2nd grade class in Staten Island that are my "Trucker Buddies", or classroom penpals. I send them postcards every week with something about where I've been, what I've been doing, and once a month or so I write them a longer letter telling them more about myself and the job of truckdriving. I like to include Poloroid photos of various things that I discuss - the courthouse in Illinois where Lincoln practiced law, trains loaded with shipping containers that will be delivered to their destination by trucks, and of farm crops and machinery I see during the year.
Well, time to scoot out of the house for some last minute shopping, see who else is drinking at the pub on Chrsitmas eve, and return to catch the televised Mass from Rome, my own little Chrsitmas tradition. I'll post one last entry here around midnite if anything special happens while I'm out on the road. For anyone still reading the blogger.com site, I think I will be discontinuing it in favor of http://bbmyls2go.mindsay.com
Merry Christmas everyone!
