It was one thing to have the winter storm warning in Atlanta the other day, but then to wake up in Tallahassee yesterday morning to 27 degrees was a bit much. So I got back to my truck in the afternoon and cruised down to Orlando for a delivery this morning only to hear frost warnings broadcast for central Florida! It was 36 degrees this morning. Sheesh. Weather is clear though as I went up to Jacksonville, got a load of coffee which I'm now bringing back up to the Atlanta area (Norcross) where they predict a low of 33 degrees.. Enough! (thanks for the flannel shirts, Dad!)
The truck is filthy, but with clear weather the wash bays have lines of up to a dozen trucks. It takes a crew of 3-4 people about 20 minutes to high-pressure wash a rig from bumper to bumber and I don't feel like sitting in line for 4 hours. I'll wait for a rainy day and do it then, hell, I just want to get the salt and stuff off the frame so don't care how quickly I get road dirt on it again. Besides, I'm probably headed north back into the mess again anyway.
Today is a dawdle day. I've only got 360 miles to drive and I'm not going to drive the final 60 miles until tomorrow so I can avoid Atlanta rushhour - plus there are no truckstops near the Atlanta region I can get to before the afternoon traffic which means I could pull in only to find no parking spaces open. I haven't been to this receiver before (Kraft Food) so don't know if they provide on-site parking overnight for next day deliveries. So I kill a few hours here (Ga/Fl line) then up to Warner Robins, GA for fuel and another break. Then up another 70 miles to the McDonough area just south of Atlanta for the evening.
Am I the only one laughing his butt off at "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancee'"? Maybe that's why I'm still single, I think it's funny as hell! see ya!
