". . . but I have MILES TO GO before I sleep, miles to go before I sleep." Robert Frost
gee, rain in Ireland? Who Knew?
I'm such a load. Raining today so I opted for the $25 24hr entertainment package for the room - unlimited music, movies, tv, and internet - come a long way from the pig farmers 17 miles east and 150 years in the past from here!
Shops are closed for the day so I have til tomorrow when I'll try the library again to look up some obituaries. Once I get over to Loughrea I've heard from my own Irish leprechaun, Johnnie Connaire who wrote me a few weeks ago
to say he has a bottle of poteen for me to bring home (Irish moonshine, I believe). Hope to talk to him to chart out his family tree as well as that of someone I believe to be another distant relative that I met several years ago, Antony Kelly. Have spent the afternoon poring over notepads filled with marriage, birth, and baptismal records in hopes of having some sort of devine revelation that will help me piece together who is related to whom over in that rural parish of Killeenadeema. Oh well, don't realy want to solve too many mysteries cause that's partly what keeps me coming back!
Local pubs were packed last night so I hope to do a little more pub hopping tonite - Galway is nice, compact town easy to explore.
Hope the weather is better for Hol up there in the hills of Connemara - she thinks she'll be doing gardening as part of the community service you do while visiting as a retreatant at the Abbey.
Meanwhile, I think I've got a cold pint in the fridge calling out to me!bb.
